...I have a Fender D'Aquisto with Serial: 906004
I'll never give it away but if someone could tell me details what the serial means in year of creation or other info, I'd be happy to learn about it.
It has only one pickup but I don't need more. Just blonde finish, gold HW. Unfortunately the original pickup is missing. The one I've bought the guitar changed it to a Steven's picup. If someone has the original pickup I'd be highly interested :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10251034625697641637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4613893995913129147.post-80324043570094350202021-06-30T14:41:56.881-07:002021-06-30T14:41:56.881-07:00My dad ordered his first D'Aquisto guitar in t...My dad ordered his first D'Aquisto guitar in the early'70's and before it was delivered, he placed a second order. The price had almost doubled. I remember we made a trip to New York and met Jimmy D'Aquisto in his tiny little shop. I'd like to post a picture of him and my dad from that day. My dad owns 2 handmade custom ordered hollow body acoustical guitars, one in a cherry finish and the other is a golden color. Both are priceless!!! I have pictures I'd like to show of daddy playing them. My dad is 81 now and still plays every single day. These are truly the most amazing beautifully sounding instruments on earth. I believe he is the only original owner of 2 handmade D'Aquisto guitars. Back in the day, George Benson was in town, (Detroit), for a concert and called my dad, wanting to see and play his guitars, (George owned one). My dad met him at Cobo Hall,(I believe), and they played for hours. (I'm trying to find the photos). Let me know how I can share the rare pictures of Jimmy and my father. It had come in on trade. The price was $750. In 1990 it was still there, but that store had a tendency to keep used gear stuffed in a back room instead of out on display where it might actually sell. By this time the price had dropped to $550. I would have liked to have owned it but it wasn't in the budget. Fast forward to 2015, I now own it. A guy bought it from the store and kept it basically under the bed for 25 years. I did find out he wasn't offered as good a deal as me... he paid $850! I bought it from him in April for $1000. It is about as near mint as is possible except the pickguard is missing... it was missing in '89 too! I'd like to find one if anyone knows of a source.ksdaddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00395232207009551823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4613893995913129147.post-82027729559350235342015-01-04T01:59:33.154-08:002015-01-04T01:59:33.154-08:00Hi There

It also has a different pickup than the one usually seen. I currently have two Japanese-built Elites - one in natural and the other black. I also purchased a Custom Shop Elite built by Steve Stern (serial number 095) in wine red. It has the mounted humbucker, while the Japanese guitars have the more desirable Schaller pickups. The Schallers have a warmth and clarity unmatched by any other pickup I've ever heard. My local luthier was doing a set up on the Custom Shop Elite and said it was THE best fret work he's ever seen. Ever. I have a black Elite and love it; it blows away most ES-175s I've played tone-wise, weighs much less than most contemporary 175s, and I prefer the Venetian cutaway to the Florentine.

Questions: Where can I find serial number and date info? Also, mine has a gold standard-size humbucker and the non-pointy pickguard. I'm assuming that makes it a later model in the series. Am I right?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
