They both use the DSP preamp module either with variable voices and a gain control option or a fixed clean blackface voice (voice 4) with no gain control. It would be great to have a "skip digital" feature for these amps to set them all tube but unfortunately this is not the case. Another thing I really miss is the option to use reverb and tremolo (the only two I need) at the same time. If you are modelling blackface, I believe trem+reverb would be a must, rather than plexi, vox, and heavy metal voices. Carry on the light!andrabianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13463209387849651082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4613893995913129147.post-683769983560445822018-04-02T07:10:04.797-07:002018-04-02T07:10:04.797-07:00I was doing research on the Fender H.O.T 25 watt p...I was doing research on the Fender H.O.T 25 watt practice amp and as there is not much information out there in cyberland about them, I thought I would leave a note here for anyone in the future that is looking for information on H.O.T amps by Fender.

Fender H.O.T amps are a Solid State amp [not tube] of the 3rd series, before the J.A.M and R.A.D models. They appear to be the first amps produced with any reference to "Hot" as their title after the original 1965 tube HOT amp.
They were manufactured between 1987 and 1993. They have the same speaker in them as a Fender Champion 110.
These models had a black front panel with red buttons and knobs. The tailless 'Fender' logo and the badge of H.O.T are mounted on the left upper corner of the material on the front. There was the earlier black vinyl covered model which sports a slightly sloped front, black vinyl body covering and silver material over the speaker. Also a grey-felt covered model with black material on the front came out in 1991 and was more of a square box shape.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18014570603191187923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4613893995913129147.post-15885839107601643072017-11-19T02:44:12.816-08:002017-11-19T02:44:12.816-08:00If you worked in a store back then perhaps you kno...If you worked in a store back then perhaps you know of the silverface super champ. I never see anything about it, but a friend of mine had one in the eighties (through which he played a Gibson 175). What a sound! It was loud (slightly higher powered than the Champ). I want one. There is no headphone jack on the Super Champ, but there is a 1/4" line-out in the back.

I should add that I had a chance to play at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival a few years ago, and one of the paid performers there let me use his Champ -- just an old blackface Champ, unknown vintage, little 8" speaker -- and it sounded AMAZING. It blew me away - not with power, obviously, but with the depth and warmth of tone. Not only do I still have it, it's my main gigging amp. Most of the rooms I play are small, and for the bigger rooms I can stick a mic in front of the amp and put a bit of it into the monitor (if needed) as well as the mains. It's a good grab-and-go amp. My only issue at the moment is that the jewel light finally burned out. Anybody know what kind of bulb I need to get?Bricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18027929412235880938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4613893995913129147.post-54369060152335291032014-04-04T03:24:53.593-07:002014-04-04T03:24:53.593-07:00What a high quality blog! The clean while on the quite side is a good Fender clean.
